Cindy Irvine
Cindy Irvine is a highly qualified clarinet, saxophone and flute
instructor. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in clarinet
performance from North Texas State University cum laude. She also
pursued one year of graduate study at Southern Methodist University on
a full scholarship and student apprenticeship, where she studied with
Steve Girko, principal clarinetist of the Dallas and Austin Symphonies.

After working for five years as a full time clarinet and saxophone
instructor at eight school districts in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area,
Cindy auditioned for and won a position with the Air Force Band of New
England at Pease and Hanscom Air Force Bases. While in the Air Force
band she toured all over New England, New York and the midwest
performing clarinet, saxophone and flute with that organization's jazz
band, concert band and woodwind quintet. Since separating from the
military, Cindy has performed with the NH Philharmonic, and is
currently playing clarinet in the Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra and
various small chamber groups. She is also playing in the pit
orchestras for Concord Community Players, and the Acting Loft in
Manchester, NH.

Cindy has had several of her high school students make the all-state
band in 2 states. Her main goal for her students is to have fun, as
well as develop a love and appreciation for music. Recent research has
shown how music study can actively contribute to intelligence. No
matter what other fields or paths children choose for their lives,
music gives lifelong academic and intellectual benefits, as well as
enjoyment and satisfaction.
