Welcome to Strings & Things Music! We know that you have many choices in instrument stores, instruction, repairs and rentals, and we are honored to serve you.
This has been an amazing year for us at Strings & Things Music! We have a store full of musical instruments of all kinds, a booming lesson program, a new Clinic Series, an updated repairs department, and we get to share it all with you on this new website. As we organize internally and upgrade to our new Point of Sale system we are also re-working our inventory for the upcoming holiday season. Our Products page will be receiving updates as the process progresses. In the meantime, check out some product info in the articles listed below.
Strings & Things Music proudly offers several types of educational opportunities to our local NH music community. We welcome students of all ages and skill levels and will match you with an appropriate teacher based on your instrument, musical genre of interest, and the days/times that you are available for lessons.
The foundation of our education department is our lesson program. Students work one-on-one with one of our many fine instructors to create an individualized course of study in their selected instrument and style. Lessons will simultaneously meet the wants and needs of the student while addressing the practical and theoretical skills necessary to achieve their musical goals.
Another facet of our education department is the Strings & Things Clinic Series. We host a series of workshops featuring both visiting artists and local professional musicians right here in the store. These are always free and open to the public! Check our Events page for our next upcoming clinic.
Lastly, we offer small group lessons, classes and advanced individual instruction on requested topics by appointment only. For serious musicians wanting to further their knowledge in areas such as modern pop/rock production and arranging, advanced jazz, rock, country or bluegrass improvisation, songwriting, music theory or a variety of other fields we ably offer the right solution for you or your group.
Strings & Things Music’s Repairs department covers a broad range of services. These range from commonly requested instrument setups and restrings to advanced works including custom amplifier modifications and complete guitar refrets. Instruments we repair include guitar, bass, mandolin, ukulele, banjo, amplifiers, pedals, violin, viola, cello, upright bass, dulcimer, autoharp and some basic work on woodwinds. We always do our best to get your instrument back in your hands in a timely manner, and our prices will always be reasonable. We even offer a rush service option by request on certain services. We stand by our work, and will never treat you like a number, as we pride ourselves on personalized service and a friendly environment that answers your questions and meets your needs.

To be an integral part of our local community, both as a family owned and operated independent business and as an important hub for the local music scene, is one of our most important goals here at Strings & Things Music. And, one of our favorite ways to bring people together here at our shop in Concord, NH is by hosting at least one free public event every month. These have included our Clinic Series (with featured local and national artists), special events from companies whose products we proudly offer in our store (such as the Taylor Road Show, Martin Experience Event and D’Addario NYXL Re-string Event), and in-house features like our Music & Arts Band instrument Rental Night. Below you will see our next upcoming events. We’d love for you to join us!
